Try the unique riding mix of pavement and dirt with MISuperMoto’s new demo bike rental program

Enthusiasts have nine upcoming dates to rent a completely-ready

supermoto demo bike at two specialized courses in Michigan

LINDEN, Mich. (April 28, 2010) – During MISuperMoto.com's past six years in existence it’s be said time and time again by motorcycle enthusiasts that once they try supermoto they are hooked. Supermoto crosses over nearly every motorcycle discipline and that’s why you’ll hear about champions like Nicky Hayden, Ben Bostrom, Jeff Ward, Chad Reed, and Jeremy McGrath both racing supermoto for fun and competition. But the caveat is to have the ability and finances to set-up a motocross bike to supermoto specs to even try it out. Now here is your opportunity as this year MISuperMoto offers a demo bike rental completely outfitted for supermoto.

The MISuperMoto demo bike is available for the first time this Sunday, May 2 at Jackson Speedway. The demo is a Honda CRF450R outfitted with 17-inch supermoto wheels and slick tires, slipper clutch, large front brake, and footpeg and axle sliders. The motor is left stock to fit the average rider and suspension is valved for a supermoto course.

The two MISuperMoto courses where the demo bike is available are very different in layout and track surface. Both tracks have dirt jumps that are manageable for amateurs and fun for experts. Auto City Speedway has NASCAR-banked paved turns along with a paved figure eight and a dirt section with a double jump and rhythm section. The layout is 80-percent pavement, 20-percent dirt. Auto City Speedway is located in Clio, Michigan, north of Flint and about 10 minutes east of I-75 freeway. While Jackson Speedway is based at a karting track with sweeping, asphalt-paved sections that are all flat along with a very long dirt section that has a variety of jump combinations. This course is 60-percent pavement, 40-percent dirt. Jackson Speedway is located two miles south of I-94 freeway in Jackson which is about two hours west of Detroit and four hours east of Chicago.

The MISuperMoto Test and Tune Days, when the demo bike is available, are held on Sundays beginning at 1 p.m. with gates opening at noon. The event ends at 4 p.m. When you rent the demo bike you’ll also have the advice of an experienced supermoto rider who can provide some tips. Rental fees are $20 for 10 laps or $40 for 30 minutes. There is no additional gate fee. Spectators are $5. It is up to each rider to bring your own gear and helmet.

“We had a demo program a few years ago and many of the riders who tried it out are still coming to the MISuperMoto events,” said Dave Duprey, owner of MISuperMoto.com. "This is a unique opportunity to try supermoto at a scheduled time without incurring significant expense. Past experience shows that once you try supermoto, you’ll be hooked. I was hooked after racing superbikes for years! All us supermoto riders want to share in our unique discipline and have you experience it at least once.”
