Supermoto5280 Round #3 Race ReportDenver, CO – The third round of the Supermoto5280 race series got underway Sunday May 17rd under sunny skies and the addition of a new dirt section. Supermoto Spectators were treated to full grids with almost 100 race entries spread amongst 10 Supermoto/Quad classes. Morning warm up started with many riders seeing the new dirt section for the first time. The new modifications were more spectator friendly sending riders higher into the air than previous sections. A new entrance was also added to the dirt and the track was run backwards in a counter clockwise direction. The race day started with a 15 deep Novice grid in which Jason Buschmann took a decisive victory over American Supercamp instructor Shannon “MadDog” Theriault. The Sportsman/Knobby class posted its biggest grid ever with 9 street legal Supermotos with Jason Marx taking the win. Adam Wells domination of the Youth class continued at IMI with him taking the win over local contingency bounty hunter Conner Stephenson. Seven fast competitors on all sizes and makes of motorcycles took to the Women’s Class as Carol Remond bested Corien DeJong. 15 year old Dustin Mooser bested local hero John Angel on the next to last lap to earn victory in the Quad Class. The Beginner Class saw first time winner James Kruse take the top step on the podium in a stacked Beginner class field. In the 250cc Main Event, Jeff Grace got back to his winning ways taking a flag to flag victory over Epic Motosports/Dunlop Sponsored Rider/Owner Kevin Bland. The Asphalt Class provided a freight train battle mid pack as Sisneros Speedworks rider Stuart Sinclair took the checkers over Epic Motosports sponsored rider Alan Fernandez. The Premier/450 class saw podium regulars the Sinclair brothers once again on top with Stuart taking the win and brother Leeland settling for 2nd.
Open Unlimited saw a great battle emerge as Stuart Sinclair again bested Bjorn Jorgensen who easily held off 250cc rider Jeff Grace. landing on the podium in the big bike class.
